Henry B Plant Museum (5 minutes driving, 25 minutes walking)

401 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33606

The museum is located in the former Tampa Bay Hotel, a luxurious winter resort that operated from 1891 to 1932. Since 1933, the hotel has been home to both the Henry B. Plant Museum and the University of Tampa. Renamed Plant Hall, the building is a National Historic Landmark, recognized for its significance as a military headquarters during the Spanish-American War. Unlike many museums that showcase past lifestyles, it features the original furnishings used by the first guests. The museum offers a true reflection of the opulence of the Gilded Age's industrial elite and the vision of Henry B. Plant, the shipping and railroad magnate.
