Wood is known as a visually appealing material but has inherent limitations when it absorbs water. This course will introduce acetylated wood, describe how it’s made and share the benefits of its application in the fenestration market. Benefits outlined throughout the course will include increased dimensional stability, water resistance and durability, which will all lead to a longer lifespan. Builders and architects in North America are always looking for new ways to incorporate sustainable and cost-saving materials in their projects. Lastly, we will discuss acetylated wood’s contribution to LEED.
