Building Code Series – with Advanced FBC Credit - Practical Applications of the Florida Building Code
Due to the success and positive feedback from our Code Series webinars this spring, we’re excited to announce that even more sessions have been added, including two advanced FBC sessions*!
This series offers six hours of training over two days, covering key topics such as Fair Housing accessibility requirements, fire alarm and detection systems, recreational boating facilities, and two advanced FBC courses* that cover technical standards for window installation and accessible toilet compartments.
Each course is taught by John Farinelli of JC Code & Construction Consultants, Inc., and provides actionable insights and code references to help you apply the Florida Building Code with confidence and accuracy.
All sessions are pending AIA continuing education credit approval. Attendance at the first series of webinars is not required. Recordings of the first code series webinars are available below.
Day 1: June 19 - 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Eastern
Fair Housing Under the FBC – Accessibility (2 Hours - pending AIA Approval)
This course focuses on the most important provisions of the Fair Housing Act as contained in the Florida Building Code, Accessibility Volume.
2023 Advanced Accessible Water Closets & Toilet Compartments (1 HSW/1 Advanced FBC)
This advanced code training course is designed to provide design professionals a review of the technical provisions for the design of accessible water closets and toilet rooms as required under the 8th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code, Accessibility Volume.
Day 2: June 20 - 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Eastern
Recreational Boating Facilities (1 HSW - Pending AIA Approval)
This course provides an overview of the technical provisions that govern the design and construction of accessible boating facilities to ensure they are accessible to all individuals.
FBC Fire Alarm & Detection Systems (1 HSW - Pending AIA Approval)
This course provides an in-depth review of the design, permitting, installation, and inspection requirements for fire alarm systems under the 8th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code and NFPA 72.
Adv. Training:FMA/AAMA 200 Window Installation (1 HSW - Pending AIA Approval/1 Advanced FBC)
This advanced course will familiarize design professionals with an overview of the window and flashing installation requirements contained in the FMA/AAMA 200 Window Installation standard for masonry construction, as referenced in the Florida Building Code, Residential Volume.
*Each advanced FBC course is approved for one hour of advanced FBC credit. Attend both to fulfill Florida's 2-hour advanced FBC credit requirement.
