Florida is suffering from a lack of equitable and affordable housing with a shortage of over 344,000 affordable homes for low-income families, while affordable housing for middle-income families is becoming increasingly more difficult to access. Architects can help improve the current situation by becoming knowledgeable of potential and existing public and private incentives given to the construction of affordable housing. Innovative typologies, construction methods and materials can also impact the cost and availability of homes accessible to low-income families.

Join Maurice Cox, Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development (DPD) for City of Chicago; Susannah C. Drake, FASLA, FAIA, principal at Sasaki and founder of DLANDstudio; and Jeffrey Huber, FAIA, ASLA, NCARB, LEED AP, principal at Brooks + Scarpa on a deep dive in equitable and affordable housing throughout the state and nation.
Register today to join us on Tues., April 18 at 12 p.m. Eastern.
