Florida’s geography and lengthy coastline create a unique set of circumstances where sea level rise will have a variety of impacts across the state, both along our coasts and tributaries and inland communities. Understanding the impacts of sea level rise across the state will help architects understand how to design safe, resilient buildings that will protect our citizens and infrastructure. Resilient building related to sea level rise will keep our community members safer at home, return to work as quickly as possible and lessen the economic burden on our state
Join Brian Cook, Director of Urban Design with Applied Sciences Consulting; Christian Kamrath, Resilience Program Manager of the Adaptation Team for Miami-Dade County’s Office Resilience and Cara Woods Serra, AICP, CFM Comprehensive Resiliency Planner with the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, in a deep dive on sea level rise.
