AUGUST - 2020 AIA Florida/Caribbean Design & Honor Awards Reception & Presentation will be online. Date, time and link to event are forthcoming.
ACCOLADES & RECOGNITION
Award winners are honored during the annual convention at the AIA Florida/Caribbean Design & Honor Awards Reception & Presentation featuring dedicated videos for each award. This year's celebration has been postponed du to COVID-19, and the new date and location are pending. The Fall issue of Florida/Caribbean Architect magazine will feature each winner and project. Winners are announced to major Florida media markets and on all AIA Florida media channels. Design Award project boards remain on display throughout the year at the AIA Florida headquarters in downtown Tallahassee.
2020 Design Awards Jury | Paris, France
The 2020 Design Awards jury convened virtually in April of 2020. President of the Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) and Past President of AIA, Thomas Vonier, FAIA, assembled the jury consisting of three Paris-based architects including Thomas Coldefy, Intl. Assoc. AIA, Isabel Meincke, Intl. Assoc. AIA, and Alireza Razavi, AIA. They meticulously reviewed a record-number 330 project submissions. Ultimately, the jury conferred 34 Design Awards representing 27 firms in Florida and Puerto Rico.Three levels of awards may be given in each of the design award categories: Honor, Merit and Citation, of which Honor is the highest distinction.
