Our Legislative Team

Vicki L. Long, CAE, AIA Florida Executive Vice President, has over 18 years of legislative experience both as a legislative staffer to two high-ranking legislators and as an association lobbyist. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.

J. Michael Huey, Hon. AIA , GrayRobinson Attorneys at Law, is a shareholder of GrayRobinson whose experience spans many practice areas including governmental consulting and sales and use taxes.

He has represented design professionals, owners and contractors in construction matters for his entire career and is experienced in construction contracts, mechanics' liens, licensing, and public procurement, among other things. For years he has served as general counsel to statewide professional and trade associations, advising them regarding employment law, officer/director liability, and state agency regulations and, also, representing them before the Florida Legislature, Governor and Cabinet and state agencies. Huey is a Florida State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate.

Chris Hansen, Government Consultant, GrayRobinson Attorneys at Law, has been on the AIA Florida Governmental Affairs team for several years. He has extensive experience and has represented clients statewide, ranging from professional associations to multi-national corporations before the Florida Legislative and Executive branches of government. His experience includes serving as Executive Director of one of Florida's largest political action committees where he excelled at campaign fundraising, strategy and membership growth. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences.

Todd Steibly, Government Consultant, GrayRobinson Attorney’s at Law, is a graduate of Florida State University where he received a Master of Science in Executive Management and a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs. Todd began his career in the political process by serving in various policymaking capacities in both the Executive and Legislative branches of Florida government. Before joining GrayRobinson, he served as a Government Consultant to Huey, Guilday, Tucker, Schwartz and Williams, P.A., representing various clients on diverse subject matters.
