AIA Orlando Annual Business Meeting and Legislative Update (Thursday, September 29th) 6pm FREE EVENT!
On September 29, 2011, AIA Orlando will proudly present updates on two topics that are extremely important to the health of our profession:
Michael Lingerfelt, President of AIA Florida for 2011, and owner of Lingerfelt International, will provide an update on his efforts on behalf of AIA Florida throughout the past year including the recent Florida AIA Convention and his attendance at the National Conference of State Legislators that was held in San Antonio, TX in August. He will also discuss the AIA's efforts, successes, and challenges during the recent legislative session in Tallahassee.
Rep. Stephen L. Precourt, one of central Florida's incumbent representatives to the Florida House, will provide "An Update From the Floor of the House", where he served as the Chair of the Energy and Utilities Policy Committee, and the State University & Private Colleges Appropriations Committee, Vice Chair of the State University & Private Colleges Appropriations Committee, and served on a host of other committees. As a business owner in the engineering profession, Rep. Precourt was AIA Florida's Legislator of the Year for 2010, the first it was awarded, and has been a very supportive voice for the AIA throughout his tenure as a public servant. We are fortunate to have his support in Tallahassee!
